May Forest
an OOAK
Formerly Something Sleek
Tyler Wentworth
$600

These felted dresses are very hard to photograph. The colors and textures
are very rich so they either come out less intense or more intense than
in reality though the photo above is fairly true to the fabric. Notice
the crinkly affect that was achieved by overlaying the wool with the
silk fibers. This particular fabric is my favorite to date!
Dress is hand felted in two pieces, the main dress and the jacket.
There are no seams or darts, it is molded to her for a perfect fit.

The main fibers are 80%wool 20%silk blend in forest green, with blues,
greens, oranges, golds, purples and red 100%silk fibers inlaid into the top of the wool. Then
Because I loaded it down with so much silk, I laid a few curly wool
hairs in bright colors on top to make sure the silk fibers stayed in
place. I really love the results! The silk
fibers create shine and texture on the surface of the wool.

Shoes are hand made using her original shoes as shoe bases. Friendly
plastic was then melted and twisted around the heels, for the inner
soles and across the toes for a truly unique artistic footwear. Under
the friendly plastic on the heels, I added some beads for extra
interest.

Her original hair was removed and replaced with a sewn on wig that was
then thinned and styled for a wispier look. Delica beads were crocheted
around the jacket edges and top of her dress with gold metallic sewing
thread. Swarovski crystals adorn upper and lower edges of dress and are
sprinkled over the dress as well.
Complete repaint using
artist quality acrylics and sealants.
